George Michael died at his dwelling on Christmas Day

George Michael’s household have mentioned they’re “appalled” a 999 name made concerning the singer on the day he died was apparently leaked to the press.

In an announcement from their solicitors, the household referred to as for the “offender(s) to be handled appropriately”.

South Central Ambulance Service mentioned an investigation had been launched.

The previous Wham! frontman was discovered lifeless on Christmas Day at his dwelling in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

A press release from the household’s legal professionals mentioned: “George’s household and associates are extraordinarily upset and actually appalled that such a private, painful and clearly confidential recording has been leaked.

“We firmly consider that anybody contacting the emergency authorities in conditions corresponding to this must be entitled to anticipate that recordings is not going to be launched to the media and it’s deeply distressing to the household that this transcript, and audio recording, has been made public.”

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service mentioned: “We take issues of confidentiality very severely and have launched an instantaneous investigation.”
